Fear; creativity most deadly enemy.
After doing some research on the best companies to work for in the United States, and being an owner of a small company in New York. I understood that it is indeed fear what makes people not only give up on their dreams but become tight about “comfort” in any given place or situation. For example, a manager of a SME. His or her biggest fear is losing their jobs from a person below them, making them become uncertain about their position everyday. In other words, fear makes people uptight and lose perspective of others’ feelings.

“everybody wants to be famous, but don’t want to put the work.” Famous comedian, Kevin Hart. This is what often people get hurt by; when you tell them they don’t have what it takes to make their dreams come true. Many people tell you all these great ideas but don’t do anything to pursue them, or they start and after one little fail attempt, they somehow “know and understand” how the market reacts. People give up extremely easy as well thinking fighting for their “dreams,” is something that can happen in a glimpse of an eye. Fight is not for everyone, accepting defeat and facing others in the eye knowing you have taken a huge punch in the face but keep pushing forward. Why do people give up so easily? Could it be that your goal is to be stuck in a 5 day a week job with a small increase in salary every year? Or is it your dream to follow your passions? Now, here ‘s the tricky part, do you know your passions?
Level of Education, NO. University status, NO. Family status, NO. Many people attribute or compare creativity with education, university, family, money status etc., however, in my own experience I would connect it with how much fantasy is there in your life. For example, I love to read fantasy novels while listening to instrumental music. Just think about it, when Star Trek just came out, they had all these amazing technological gadgets -- was this type of fantasy scientists needed to be inspired and revolutionize the world we live in?. Now, fantasy makes you wonder, fly, feel, and be god...how much fantasy is there in your life.

My favorite tale comes from a videogame, Final Fantasy VI. Where an evil man, thirsty with destruction and praise, conquered the world. The Apocalypse was not the product of a monster, or a god, or a demon, or even an organization: it was a man; a man with an insatiable lust for destruction and lived only to unwind peace and eradicate all traces of harmony in existence. There was no self-justification or self-righteousness in his actions, just a font of destruction. Never did he consider himself right: he knew he was absolutely evil, Kefka Palazzo. | |
Please listen to this piece and come up with your own ideas of what type of person he was. Let this tune take you to the world governed by an abominable man, where fear occupied everyone’s heart. His only desire was to destroy dreams and hope for humankind.
“Unfortunately, if you're afraid to be wrong, you'll never be creative or original.” This is something I understood over the years. Always wanting to be right or always wanting to be perfect. Today’s society demands perfection, leaving small chances to fail. However, I would rather fail 100 times than not having the feeling of freedom and satisfaction by working on my own goals. Thus, the first step to create is not being original or ask someone for help; the first step is to ignore or forget the past; ignore what the world has created up until this point. Most creative people can be or are dishonest, they destroy social schemata and create their own ideas. What creativity really means, is living inside your own mind and take something from the million of thoughts you have any given day, captured it and represent it in any way. Also, flexibility and persistence... don't give up if you failed 30 times... just remember that today, a year later, you would have wanted to start that day.
